2015 Reg Compliance School helps CUs tackle reg burden

Credit unions will gain the knowledge needed to conquer a growing number of regulatory compliance requirements at NAFCU's 2015 Regulatory Compliance School, which takes place March 30-April 3 in Arlington, Va.

"In this increasingly complex regulatory environment, it's vital for credit unions to have a solid understanding of the regulations and laws affecting their compliance obligations," said JiJi Bahhur, NAFCU's director of regulatory compliance and NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO). "The School is a great resource for credit unions handling new compliance challenges and those on the horizon."

Bahhur is scheduled to present the "NCUA Update" and "CFPB Update" courses during School. Attendees will also hear remarks from NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and other members of NAFCU's highly regarded compliance team.

Also slated to speak are Steve Van Beek, NCCO, attorney and counselor at Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC, Judy Graham, program officer in NCUA's examination and insurance office, and other leading compliance professionals.

Topics that will be covered at the Regulatory Compliance School, which is sponsored by NAFCU Services Corporation, include federal credit union bylaws, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and its mortgage regulations, National Credit Union Administration's (NCUA) lending regulations, Regulation Z, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and more.

Additional School highlights include:

  • an entire day dedicated to regulatory updates;
  • free access to NAFCU's 2014 Credit Union Compliance GPS electronic manual upon registration and an advance copy of the 2015 version (included as part of the registration fee); and
  • a new network of credit union professionals and compliance officers.

The School will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott and is open to NAFCU members and nonmembers.
