NAFCU webcasts to cover advertising, complaints

Jan. 23, 2014 - The early-bird registration deadlines are approaching for upcoming NAFCU webcasts on the relationship between advertising and Regulation Z compliance and on credit union responses to member complaints.

"Getting Complaints: What to Do Next to Safeguard and Improve Your Credit Union" is scheduled Feb. 5; the early-bird deadline for registration is Jan. 29. Attorney and compliance speaker Michael Waldron, a partner at Ballard Spahr, will talk about how to manage the complaint process while satisfying NCUA regulations and maintaining member loyalty. He will discuss what steps credit unions must take to document complaints and how they can use complaints as feedback to spur improvements.

"Advertising and Regulation Z Compliance: Are You Covered?" will take place Feb. 19; early-bird registration discounts end Feb. 12. Justin Robinson, the director of compliance at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, will discuss what Regulation Z disclosures are required when advertising credit cards, consumer loans, real estate loans and other credit union products via print, radio and social media. Reg Z "trigger terms" will also be discussed.

NAFCU webcasts are open to all credit unions, regardless of charter type or membership in NAFCU. They remain available on-demand for up to a year after their broadcast. An unlimited subscription to all webcasts during 2014 is available now.
