Reg Compliance School kicks off today

NAFCU Director of Regulatory Compliance JiJi Bahhur will discuss special credit union issues at today's kickoff of the association's 2015 Regulatory Compliance School in Arlington, Va.

A highlight of the School includes a record number of people attempting to sit and pass the rigorous certification process necessary to get their NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO).

"The regulatory environment has grown increasingly complex, so it's essential for credit unions to have a concrete understanding of the latest regulations and laws affecting their responsibilities," said Bahhur.

Bahhur is presenting today on credit union issues, including the statutory lien, expulsion and limitation of services to members, directors and compensation, service to nonmembers and more.

Additional speakers today include members of NAFCU's regulatory and compliance teams and NCUA staff members.

Throughout the School, attendees will hear from some of the industry's leading compliance professionals.

Takeaways for attendees this week include an entire day devoted to regulatory updates, a free copy of the association's newly released 2015 NAFCU's Credit Union Compliance GPS electronic manual and the opportunity to network with other credit union professionals and compliance officers.

Regulatory Compliance School, which is sponsored by NAFCU Services Corporation and its Preferred Partner, GlobalVision Systems, Inc., runs through Friday, April 3, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott. It is open to NAFCU members and nonmebers.
