Berger: Reaching out to Trump team, noting CU wins in Congress

NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger told association members today of several key wins for credit union friends in Congress. He also noted efforts underway to advocate for credit union regulatory relief in the association's outreach to President-elect Donald Trump's campaign and transition team.

Berger, in an email to members detailing this and more, said "NAFCU's lobbying team has been in contact with the Trump Campaign and transition team advocating the need for credit union regulatory relief in a President Trump Administration. President-elect Trump has advocated for the rollback of regulations on the campaign trail." The NAFCU president also noted last night's key results in the House and Senate.

"Thanks to the support of many of you, NAFCU/PAC (NAFCU's political action committee) participated in over 130 campaigns of candidates and members of Congress who support credit union issues," Berger wrote. "To date, 97 percent of NAFCU/PAC supported candidates have won their elections."

Berger also gave individual updates on NAFCU-backed members of the House and Senate, which are available on NAFCU's website.
