House Financial Services' Waters, Perlmutter to speak at NAFCU's Caucus

House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and subcommittee Ranking Member Ed Perlmutter, D-Colo., are recent additions to the growing list of Congressional Caucus speakers.

NAFCU's Congressional Caucus, Sept. 10-13 in Washington, will provide credit union attendees with the chance to hear directly from lawmakers, members of the administration and regulators on the top issues facing the industry. Credit union representatives will also have the chance to meet one-on-one with lawmakers throughout the conference.

Earlier this year, NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger, with senior staff, met with Waters on top credit union issues, including regulatory burden. During the past Congress, she supported legislation that would have increased credit unions' lending ability.

Perlmutter serves as ranking member on the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Terrorism and Illicit Finance. He has also been a long-time champion of credit unions and has previously supported increasing the industry's member business lending cap.

Congressional Caucus registration is open to members and nonmembers; follow the hashtag #NAFCUCaucus on Twitter for the latest information.
