NAFCU's NCCO program earns Gold Award from ASAE
The NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer program earned a 2017 ASAE Power of A (association) Gold Award, the industry's highest honor, which rewards the accomplishments of associations that work to better their industries and peoples' lives.
"NAFCU is honored to receive this award, which sets the bar for credit union compliance professionals. The feedback we have received indicates there is not a better program available for compliance officers and internal auditors," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. "Having supremely qualified compliance professionals in credit unions is a must in today's regulatory environment."
"Congratulations to NAFCU for helping to prepare a stronger and better skilled workforce," said Sharon J. Swan, FASAE, CAE, Chief Executive Officer of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics and chair of the Power of A Awards Judging Committee. "Their initiative exemplifies how we work best when we work together and how associations have a positive influence on our everyday lives in every way."
The NCCO program requires a credit union professional to pass a series of four examinations developed by compliance experts. Earning this designation means a credit union professional has a comprehensive understanding of the major regulations governing credit unions' operations.
Since the program's inception, more than 1,500 credit union CEOs, compliance officers and other industry leaders have successfully earned their NCCO.
Those interested in becoming NCCOs can take the examinations at NAFCU's Regulatory Compliance School – Oct. 9-13 in San Diego – or via self-study with an exam proctor. Credit union representatives that register for School by Aug. 11 with code FALLSAVINGS will save $200.
