On September 16, 2021, the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) issued a notice regarding an increase in online child sexual exploitation (OCSE). The notice includes specific suspicious activity report (SAR) instructions and some trends regarding OCSE. According to FinCEN, these kinds of crimes, including the funding, production and distribution of child sexual abuse materials have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic due to multiple factors.
