Comments Due to NAFCU: NCUA - Fair Hiring in Banking
NAFCU would like to highlight the following:
- The proposal incorporates the NCUA’s Second Chance Interpretive Ruling and Policy Statement (IRPS 19-1) and statutory prohibitions imposed by Section 205(d) of the Federal Credit Union Act (FCU Act) into the agency’s regulations.
- The proposal replaces a lifetime ban for those with disqualifying convictions to work in the banking sector and creates an exception for criminal acts committed before the age of 21.
