Fair Lending Resource

We all hear the rumors about how fair lending issues will become more important for credit unions in the upcoming years.  Here's a good fair lending resource that can help.

The Department of Justice maintains a very good website devoted to fair lending issues.  Access it here.  The Compliance Guy really likes this page, which highlights selected cases brought against lenders, car dealerships, etc.  You can glance through cases involving alleged race discrimination.  Or religion.  Or fair lending.

Every case does not involve lending.  But each involves a company or individual who got into trouble when they started treating different folks differently, without a sound business reason to explain the action.  If you want to drive home fair lending training sessions, these cases provide wonderful case studies and illustrations.
