Letters to Credit Unions; Pics

Posted by Anthony Demangone

Being out of the office for a few weeks can really clog your in-box.  Here are a few items that caught my attention as I reviewed the 1,274 emails that awaited my return.

  • NCUA issued a few letters to credit unions of note.  First, NCUA issued letter 09-CU-07, and its attachment(which is an AIRES questionnaire).  The letter is designed to give credit unions the guidance that field staff will use when they review a remote deposit capture system.  If your credit union has such a system or is thinking about it, read this guidance.  ASAP.  NCUA also issued letter 09-CU-08 to alert credit unions to recent trends in mortgage fraud.  There's not a lot new here, as the guidance simply points to a report issued by FinCEN.  But if you do mortgage lending, it is a good read nonetheless.
  • Many, many thanks to my colleagues at NAFCU who covered for me while I was out diapering.  Special thanks go to Steve, Sarah, Shari and Dan.  NAFCU is a wonderful organization.  It is as simple as that.
  • Many thanks to all of you for your kind wishes for my new family.  On behalf of Mandy, Kate and Briggs, I want to thank you all.  Compliance peeps are the best.  It is as simple as that.

Oh, and here are some pics. (And if you're really interested, here's a personal blog I set up for the twins.)

Trouble, on the double.
