NCUA Board Meeting, NCUA Regs

Posted by Anthony Demangone

Yesterday, NCUA's Board approved a number of items.  Of note, NCUA approved a proposed rulemaking designed to clarify a number of issues with it recently issued UDAP regulation.  For those working on this issue within your credit union, access NCUA's proposal here.  NAFCU Today does a nice write-up on the entire meeting, which you can access here.

In a later, closed meeting, NCUA extended its Corporate Credit Union Share Guarantee Program.  Read about it here.

Compliance geeks: NCUA has updated its "regulations" document.  This is the monster .pdf that houes all NCUA regulations.  The Compliance Guy visits this document more about as often as he raids the cookie jar.  Access the updated document here.  (Select the May 2008 with change 1 incorporated.)  Oh, and here's a free tip for you guys.  Do yourself a favor and download a copy of this document to your computer's desktop.  Sure, your IT guy/gal says never to put stuff on your desktop.  But your IT guy/gal doesn't have to research Truth in Savings when the Internet goes down.
