The NCUA Compliance Self-Assessment Guide
The Compliance Guy is a generalist. (As are most compliance officers.) As my father points out, this means that I don't know that much about anything. I always counter that know a little bit about a lot of things. That being said, my Dad is amazed that I'm gainfully employed. Thankful, but amazed.
Due to the general nature of my knowledge, I'm always thankful for useful compliance documents. And the NCUA Compliance Self-Assessment Guide is one of them. From the Bank Secrecy Act, to Regulation Z, this guide provides a good overview of numerous laws and regulations. There are checklists, glossaries, and more. The guide even covers Regulation S. (I thought that would catch your attention.)
And if you hire a new compliance team member, this guide is a great training tool. This is definitely one of the Compliance Guy's favorites.
