NCUA To Propose MBL ANPR; NAFCU Member Call-in

This Thursday, NCUA has a rather light agenda for its Board meeting.  According to this agenda, NCUA plans on issuing an advance notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPR) to amend its member business lending rule.  Hereis the NAFCU Today article about the upcoming board meeting.  Here is a CU Times article that also gives some details.

An ANPR is not quite a proposal.  Through an ANPR, an agency seeks input to help them determine how to craft a proposed rule - or even whether they should issue a proposal at all.  ANPRs are a wonderful opportunity to give input and shape agency action.

This afternoon, NAFCU will host its regular "Member Call-in."  For compliance peeps, this is an hour well-spent.

NAFCU members, please join us on Wednesday, June 18, at 4 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time for "A Mid-Year Review." NAFCU President Fred Becker and other senior staff will take a look at where things stand at mid-year in the Washington arena.

We'll take a look at prospects for credit union legislation in 2008, including the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act, mortgage and lending reforms and legislation to regulate interchange fees and overdraft protection. We'll also discuss pending NCUA regulatory activity such as the recommendations of the Outreach Task Force, FOM rulemaking, various compliance issues and the latest economic trends.

The call-in is for NAFCU members only.  To sign up for the free event, go here.
