Some Security Tid-Bits; Upcoming Educational Events; Happy Holidays

Here are a few security-related items that I've read recently.

As I always say, a good compliance officer helps his or her credit union with all types of risk - not just reguatory-related risks.  Anyway, security related items can go a long way to helping your credit union comply with Part 748 of NCUA's rules and regs.

NAFCU has two education events that I want to shamelessly plug.

First, on January 7, NAFCU is offering a webcast devoted to collections.   David Reed, who is the author of this collections manual, will present the materials.  Go here to learn more about the training session.

Second, our Regulatory Compliance School is filling up fast.  The conference will be held in late March, and we already have about 30 folks who have signed up.  This is one of those conferences that does sell out, so if you have someone who needs a good overview of credit union compliance issues, don't wait too long to sign them up.  Go here for more details.

NAFCU's offices will be closed the next two days for the Holidays.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and Happy Holidays to all.   Be safe, enjoy friends and family, and try not to think of NCUA, the Federal Register, risk assessments or title 12 of the code of federal regulations.Â
