Last month, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (bureau or CFPB) published a request for information (RFI) related to fees charged to consumers by financial institutions for products and services. Although the RFI does not create or impose any new rules, responses to this RFI could prompt future rulemaking efforts related to fees.
