Sponsorship and Exhibits Sales Manager

The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions (NAFCU) is seeking to hire a Sponsorship and Exhibits Sales Manager, who will execute sales and fulfillment of sponsorships and exhibits for NAFCU’s conferences and other training events. This position works within the seven-member Events team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Events, and ultimately is responsible for all logistics in the sponsorships and exhibits area at NAFCU’s conferences, webinars, and/or virtual events each year.  The position also is responsible for advertising and online vendor directory sales.

What you'll do:

Run all aspects of selling, relationship development, and credit union industry brand awareness in order to grow event/advertising revenue for NAFCU.

  •  Independently manage all aspects of the planning and execution of the Association’s conference exhibitions including sales management, sponsorship fulfillment, and logistics.  Manage budgets and oversee invoicing with support from NAFCU’s Member Services division.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with fulfillment vendors.
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors including the coordination of exhibitor logistics.
  • Assist each Event Producer with the planning and execution of sponsored events.
  • Monitor revenue and expenses closely and provide forecast and final budgets to the event producer leading up to and after each event.
  • Serve as NAFCU Events liaison to the NAFCU Services Corporation team concerning partner exhibits and sponsorships.  Also serve as liaison to NAFCU’s Communications Department for advertising and vendor directory sales.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience in event sponsorship and conference exhibition execution.
  • Existing relationships in the credit union industry or financial services are a plus.
  • Strong sales and client management experience; superior written and verbal communications skills and ability to build strong relationships.
  • A proven track record in meeting or exceeding annual sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Proficiency in setting and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and be responsive to requests from vendors and colleagues in a timely manner.
  • Strong project management experience and ability to juggle multiple shifting priorities.
  • Experience in developing and managing exhibit/sponsorship/advertising revenue against set budgets with a particular aptitude for finding savings and adhering to a strict management of expenses.
  • Creative thinking in attracting and retaining vendors, generating new revenue opportunities and improving upon the vendor/attendee experience.
  • Ability to negotiate and make adjustments to contract language with third party suppliers including the trade show general services contractor.
  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.
  • Availability to travel up to 10-20% of the time will be required, as well as long hours/weekend work while at conferences.
