Perspective

Written by Anthony Demangone

I usually write these posts a few days in advance.  I'm penning this one on December 14, 2012, the day a gunman killed many, many people in a Connecticut school, including children.

A while ago, I penned a few thoughts on how most things are pretty much unimportant.  That thought resonates clearly with me today.

There's not much left to be said.  But please allow me these few thoughts.

  • I still believe the world is a wonderful place, full of possibilities. While unspeakable sadness grips the families and friends of the fallen, we all have the ability to push back the darkness, even if only a little bit, one situation at a time.
  • The terrible tragedy has focused our national attention.  But remember that many in our lives, perhaps unknown to us, are struggling with their own demons.  While we may feel powerless to help those affected by the shootings, we are anything but when it comes to family, friends and colleagues.

My prayers and thoughts go out to all those who were affected by the shootings.  Today was a terrible day. May they find comfort and peace in the days to come.Â
