You would be hard-pressed to find a better example of the “credit union way” than the cultural turnaround that took place when new NAFCU Board Chair Jeanne Kucey became president and CEO of JetStream Federal Credit Union (Miami Lakes, Fla.) in 2009.
This $204 million credit union got its start serving Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) employees and their families. However, after the addition of numerous select employee groups (SEGs) and a community charter including Miami Dade County and three counties in Puerto Rico, to say the credit union’s demographics changed considerably would be an understatement.
