Q: What led you to the credit union sector and to Redstone Federal Credit Union?
A: I was in a “Leadership Huntsville/ Madison County” class, and the Redstone Federal Credit Union (RFCU) CEO (now deceased) was also a class member. That same year, the bank I was working for was bought out—and 75 percent of the staff was let go. I called RFCU’s CEO to talk about job placement opportunities for our staff. We discussed different positions available and the skills needed for them. One of the jobs was right up my alley. “I can do that!” I said to the CEO. That’s how I came to be in a credit union—and passionate about the credit union movement.
