CU leaders hone skills at NAFCU's MLI
Credit union leaders from around the country are gathering today to kick off the popular NAFCU Management and Leadership Institute. MLI runs through Friday in Annapolis, Md.
NAFCU Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt will present a welcome address today.
"Our Management and Leadership Institute continues to be an essential program for credit union leaders who want to learn more about operating a credit union," said NAFCU Executive Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel Carrie Hunt. "This conference will teach students the building blocks of what makes an excellent credit union leader and how to successfully manage a team."
Attendees of the Institute this week will learn about credit union operational issues, including financial and risk management, from top industry leaders. Attendees will also work in groups to apply their learning to case studies.
Leadership guru John Spence is back by popular demand this year to present a full-day workshop, "The Leader of the Future." He will discuss the top 10 attributes that all leaders possess and seven factors essential to creating a personal leadership development plan.
Attendees of MLI will receive a free, signed copy of the book, "Managing and Leading Well," authored by NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger and Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone.
