NAFCU seeks CU input on NCUA communication methods
NAFCU sent members a Regulatory Alert Wednesday outlining the NCUA's request for information (RFI) related to its communication methods in an effort to increase transparency and promote efficiency. The association outlined the RFI and provided several items for consideration as credit unions offer feedback on this topic.
In the Regulatory Alert, NAFCU highlighted that the RFI will likely shape the NCUA’s future communication methods and asked credit unions to consider the current accessibility of information on federal laws, regulations, policies, and all relevant information when offering feedback. In addition, credit unions were asked to consider the functionality of the NCUA website, specifically the ease of accessing information and the usability of the search field.
NAFCU noted that the main purpose of the RFI is to reduce the burden for credit unions and others seeking information, both in terms of expending fewer resources to find relevant information and decreasing the amount of information that requires review.
NAFCU posed several questions in the Regulatory Alert for credit unions to make use of when offering feedback. Comments on the RFI are due to NAFCU Feb. 19; comments are due to the NCUA March 9.
