NAFCU’s Berger named top lobbyist by The Hill for 20th year in a row
NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Mesack, and Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler were recognized as top 2022 association lobbyists by The Hill, a daily newspaper covering Congress and Washington D.C.
This year marks Berger’s 20th consecutive year of being recognized for his robust efforts advocating on behalf of the credit union industry. This is the 15th consecutive year for Thaler as well.
“NAFCU fought several legislative and regulatory battles to ensure credit unions have a voice in Congress this year,” stated Berger. “This level of recognition reaffirms all the impactful advocacy efforts NAFCU, our Board of Directors, devoted members, and incredible staff conduct on behalf of credit unions so they can best serve their 134 million members.”
NAFCU’s award-winning advocacy team has been hard at work for credit unions this year, ensuring that the harmful Credit Card Competition Act (CCCA) and other provisions, such as additional NCUA authority over third-party vendors and expanded Regulation E liability, are kept from moving forward in Congress. The association has remained active in pushing for more funding and greater transparency in the community development financial institutions (CDFI) process.
