NAFCU meets with NCUA ONES director, staff

NCUANAFCU Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Mesack Friday met with NCUA Office of National Examination and Supervision (ONES) Director Scott Hunt to share credit union priorities.

NAFCU Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Ann Petros, Senior Counsel for Research and Policy Andrew Morris and NCUA Director of the Office of External Affairs and Communications Elizabeth Eurgubian also participated in the meeting.

Of note, the NCUA’s final rule regarding asset threshold determination for ONES supervision became effective Jan. 1, 2023. The rule, approved in July, raised the asset threshold for assigning a consumer federally-insured credit union to supervision by ONES from $10 billion to $15 billion.

NAFCU will continue to work closely with the NCUA to ensure that credit unions have the necessary resources and guidance to effectively serve their 134 million members.
