CUs can push America Saves on social media
NAFCU is encouraging credit unions to use social media to get the word out to their members about this year's America Saves Week, which touts the values of saving money and reducing debt.
America Saves Week, which takes place Feb. 19-26, is a national initiative that encourages individuals and families to save money and build personal wealth. More than 1,000 non-profit, government and corporate groups are participating in America Saves.
Organizations that are participating in America Saves are asked to bring attention to the value of saving in a variety of ways. The initiative notes that companies can promote the use of savings bonds as a tool to build savings. Organizations also urged to participate in America Saves Week on social media networks like Facebook or Twitter. More information regarding America Saves Week is available online.
NAFCU members with questions about America Saves Week should contact Patty Briotta, NAFCU's public relations manager, by email at pbriotta@nafcu.org, or by dialing 703-842-2820.
NAFCU is also encouraging member credit unions that serve military service members to sign up for Military Saves Week, which runs concurrently with America Saves Week.
A sign-up page and links to resources are online now. Member credit unions with questions about Military Saves Week should contact Quincy Enoch, NAFCU's associate director of legislative affairs and its military liaison, by emailing qenoch@nafcu.org, or dialing 703-842-2261.
