NCUA liquidates Taupa Lithuanian CU of Ohio

July 16, 2013 – NCUA said it will liquidate Taupa Lithuanian Credit Union of Cleveland, Ohio, yesterday after finding it was insolvent and had no prospects for restoring viable operations.

Taupa Lithuanian Credit Union served 1,154 members and had assets of more than $23.6 million, according to the credit union's most recent Call Report. Taupa Lithuanian was chartered in 1984 and served the Lithuanian community of Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.

The Asset Management and Assistance Center will issue checks to individuals holding verified share accounts within one week, the agency said. Taupa Lithuanian Credit Union is the eleventh federally insured credit union liquidation in 2013.
