Standardized Approach to Assessing Cybersecurity Preparedness. Members of the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) emphasized the benefits of using usage of a  standardized approach to assess and improve cybersecurity preparedness.  The FFIEC members, including the National Credit Union Administration, noted that the adoption of a standardized approach allows institutions to better track progress over time, and share information and best practices with other financial institutions and with regulators. Institutions can choose from a variety of standardized tools aligned with industry standards and best practices to assess their cybersecurity preparedness.  These tools include the: FFIEC Cybersecurity Assessment Tool, National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework,  Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council Cybersecurity Profile and Center for Internet Security Critical Security Controls.  NAFCU members also have access to a number of cybersecurity compliance resources here.
