Reginald O’Shields manages the delivery of legal services by the Bank’s Legal department, covering a wide variety of corporate, securities, finance, and regulatory matters. O’Shields joined FHLBank Atlanta as a senior attorney in May 2003. Prior to joining the Bank, he was in private legal practice with Sutherland Asbill & Brennan in Atlanta, Haynsworth Sinkler Boyd in Greenville, South Carolina, and with Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett in New York. O’Shields holds a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School, and he earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Furman University.

As General Counsel, Reginald O’Shields brings a broad range of expertise to audiences including finance, securities, diversity and inclusion, and other regulatory matters. O’Shields speaks about current regulatory challenges facing financial institutions and his perspective on the likely impact of housing finance reform on the banking industry.
