Five Reasons I Love MLI

Written by Anthony Demangone

(Editor's note: I'm clearly biased.  This is a NAFCU conference, and I work for NAFCU. Carry on.)

I've had the pleasure of being a faculty member at NAFCU's MLI conference.  I've had a blast, and here are a number of reasons why...

  1. Spence, John.  John kicked off the conference, and there's no one better equipped to get you excited about making things better - about leading better.   And since John starts things out, he gets everyone in the right frame of mind to dig in for the rest of the week.
  2. Glenn and Lee. Two wonderful CEOs "MC" the conference and help answer questions and guide attendees through the evening workshops.  Each has a different leadership style, and the diversity is a great teaching tool.
  3. Work groups. Attendees are divided into teams, and each team is comprised of folks from different parts of the country, different areas of expertise, and different points of view.  That effect of the diversity is amazing. Spend enough time with bright folks with different points of view, and you'll come away with some wonderful new perspectives.
  4. White space.  When is the last time you spent a entire week focusing on leadership, your career, and thinking about ways to improve your credit union?
  5. I love Phily.  From Monk's Cafe, to Geno's, it was wonderful to visit the City Brotherly Love.

Hopefully, we'll see you guys next year.
