Course to develop CU executive presence
Credit union leaders that attend the NAFCU/DDJ-Myers "Building an Executive Presence" course set for Aug. 11-13 in Baltimore will learn how to exude an executive presence that can drive both employee engagement and productivity.
Participants in the course will learn from the executive leadership coaches of DDJ Myers Ltd., who will provide tools credit union leaders need to enhance their presence and, in turn, create an environment to support the challenges credit unions currently face in serving their members.
Peter Myers, vice president of DDJ Myers Ltd., points out that a leader's presence engages people and that employees who are not engaged can drag down an organization's productivity, which can take a toll on the bottom line. "As leaders, we are accountable for cultivating our presence in order to engage our staff," Myers said.
Myers notes that during the course, participants will receive rigorous assessments from peers and the kind of leadership- and presence-building skills they "can't pick up from a textbook." He adds that course participants will walk away "with an increased awareness of their own energy levels, moods and reactions and how these impact the motivation and moods of others."
The entire agenda for the three-day course is online. Credit unions interested in learning more about how this type of course can benefit them can contact DDJ Myers Ltd. by July 16 to receive a free, 30-minute telephone coaching session.
