CUs dominate GoBankingRates top 10 for military
As a part of GOBankingRates' "Best Banks of 2015" series, more than 30 military banks and credit unions were examined for checking account fees, remote check deposits and financial literacy programs and eight credit unions – all NAFCU members – were named as providing top service to servicemembers and their families.
Navy Federal Credit Union, the world's largest credit union, was No. 1 on this list. Also chosen were NAFCU-members Arkansas Federal Credit Union, Andrews Federal Credit Union, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, Langley Federal Credit Union, Tyndall Federal Credit Union and Air Force Federal Credit Union. The list also included USAA Federal Savings Bank and First Citizens Bank & Trust Company.
"Credit unions keep their members' interests as their top priority, so it's not surprising to see so many credit unions on this list," said NAFCU Military Liaison Quincy Enoch. "That ‘members first' approach is why more than 100 million consumers choose credit unions."
