ICYMI: NAFCU featured for advocacy efforts

NAFCUBadCredit.org recently featured NAFCU’s advocacy efforts in Washington, D.C., specifically diving into NAFCU’s history and how the association provides advocacy, compliance assistance, and education to help the credit union industry thrive.

The article explained that “NAFCU helps credit unions achieve compliance in several areas, understand complex regulations, and grow to serve more members,” while also fighting on the legislative front for the benefit of credit unions. It also noted how “NAFCU continues to research ways to assist credit unions in every process and, in turn, help those who need access to their products and services.”

In addition, the article highlighted:

·         NAFCU’s certification programs, which help credit unions better serve and protect their members;

·         NAFCU’s push to shorten the wait time for CDFI certification and to preserve the streamlined credit union CDFI application; and

·         the association's fight for streamlining chartering and field of membership (FOM) procedures.

The feature also highlighted NAFCU’s new Credit Union Policy Podcast (CUPP), which launched in early July and takes listeners into the heart of Washington, D.C., to highlight where lawmakers and regulators stand on key credit union issues.

NAFCU will continue working to strengthen credit unions by providing the best federal advocacy, education, and compliance assistance in the industry.
