NAFCU announces new 2021-2022 board

NAFCUNAFCU yesterday announced its 2021-2022 Board of Directors following its Annual Business Meeting held both at the association's headquarters in Arlington, Va., and virtually.

Thomas W. DeWitt, president and CEO of State Farm Federal Credit Union (Bloomington, Ill.), has been elected as NAFCU's board chair.

“I am honored to serve as NAFCU’s Board Chair,” said DeWitt, who has served on NAFCU's board since 2014. “It is a privilege to work to advance the interest of an industry that took immediate action to help their members during the pandemic. I look forward to working with the entire Board of Directors to continue to advocate for a regulatory and legislative environment that benefits credit unions and their 125 million members.”

NAFCU officers for 2021-2022 are:

  • Thomas W. DeWitt, chair and Western Region Director;
  • Gary A. Grinnell, vice chair and Eastern Region Director, president and CEO of Corning Federal Credit Union in Corning, N.Y.;
  • Brian T. Schools, treasurer and Eastern Region Director, president and CEO of Chartway Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach, Va.; and
  • Karen Harbin, secretary and director-at-large, president and CEO of Commonwealth Credit Union in Frankfurt, Ky.;

Other board members are:

  • Frank Mancini, director-at-large, president and CEO of Connex Credit Union in North Haven, Conn.;
  • Melanie Kennedy, Southern Region Director, president and CEO of Southwest Financial Federal Credit Union in Dallas, Texas;
  • James A. Kenyon, director-at-large, president and CEO of Whitefish Credit Union in Whitefish, Mont.;
  • Lonnie Nicholson, Southern Region Director, president and CEO of EECU in Ft. Worth, Texas;
  • Jan N. Roche, director-at-large, president and CEO of State Department Federal Credit Union in Alexandria, Va.;
  • Lisa A. Schlehuber, director-at-large, CEO of Elements Financial Federal Credit Union in Indianapolis, Ind.; and
  • Keith Sultemeier, Western Region Director, president and CEO of Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
