NAFCU Caucus kicks off today
Hundreds of credit union leaders and staff from around the country are in Washington this week for NAFCU's Congressional Caucus, which kicks off today with a welcome address from President and CEO Dan Berger and remarks from keynote speaker S.E. Cupp.
Cupp is a nationally syndicated columnist and political commentator who will talk to credit unions about the upcoming presidential election and the state of Congress.
Caucus, NAFCU's credit union lobbying event of the year, is an opportunity for credit union representatives to meet directly with lawmakers and regulators to discuss top credit union issues face-to-face. The strong attendance this year shows how serious NAFCU members are about putting credit union issues front-and-center in Washington.
Caucus runs through Wednesday at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. Other speakers today include:
• CFPB Assistant Director of the Office of Servicemember Affairs Holly Petraeus;
• Financial Crimes Enforcement Network Deputy Director Jamal El-Hindi;
• Treasury Department Office of Critical Infrastructure Protection and Compliance Policy Acting Director Brian J. Peretti;
• FHLBank Des Moines President and CEO Mike Wilson; and
• MasterCard Senior Vice President Tucker Foote.
Attendees are encouraged to download NAFCU's Congressional Caucus free mobile app; users will be able to view the agenda, speaker list, issue briefs and tips for successful lobbying. To download the mobile app, go to nafcu.org/caucusapp or visit the Apple App Store or Google Play store, and search "NAFCU Caucus." Use the password "washington."
