NAFCU to honor CU champions with new award

Capitol HillAs credit unions' leading federal advocate, NAFCU is launching a new award – the Congressional Credit Union Champion Award – to thank members of Congress for their support of the credit union industry and efforts to create a healthy legislative and regulatory environment that allows credit unions to thrive.

"In our 54 years as credit unions' voice at the federal level, we have established ourselves as a bipartisan organization working across the aisle to achieve meaningful reforms that allow credit unions to better serve their members," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. "Our success wouldn't be possible without direct feedback from our member credit unions or our allies on Capitol Hill. With this award, we look forward to recognizing those that understand the credit union difference and support our efforts."

The Congressional Credit Union Champion Award is intended to show gratitude and honor those who've gone the extra mile in supporting credit unions through the introduction or cosigning of credit union-friendly legislation, leading or signing onto "Dear Colleague" letters in support of credit union initiatives and exhibiting a pro-credit-union voting record.

NAFCU member credit unions can nominate members of Congress for this award at any time throughout the year. Learn more about the award and submit nominations here.
