NAFCU introduces CU volunteer, risk management certifications
NAFCU has created new NAFCU Certified Volunteer Expert (NCVE) and NAFCU Certified Risk Manager (NCRM) designations for volunteers and risk management professionals in the credit union industry looking to demonstrate they have the understanding and expertise needed to perform their duties.
"These earned designations will provide credit union volunteers and those who oversee risk management at their credit unions a tangible way of showing their knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of their particular roles," said Anthony Demangone, NAFCU's executive vice president and COO.
The NCVE certification can be attained by registrants who sign up for optional pre-conference workshops and pass an exam at the end of those during NAFCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference, slated May 10-13 in Louisville, Ky.; and 48th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo, slated June 23-26 in Montreal. The training will help both new and experience board and supervisory committee members better understand how the credit union system works. Workshop registrants will also receive the new NAFCU Credit Union Director Handbook written by Demangone.
Risk management professionals can earn the NCRM designation to showthat they're prepared to deal with both internal and external threats their credit union might face. The NCRM certification can only be obtained by taking and passing an optional exam during NAFCU's new Risk Management Seminar, slated Aug. 3-5 in Denver.
NAFCU members and nonmembers can earn these prestigious designations.
