NAFCU Partners with Welcome Hall Mission to Help Disadvantaged Children That Need School Supplies
Montreal (June 25, 2015) – The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) has partnered with Welcome Hall Mission in conjunction with the association's 48th Annual Conference and Solutions Expo in Montreal. Attendees today will assemble 200 backpacks that will be donated to disadvantaged children in Montreal that are in need of school supplies.
"Individuals in the credit union industry take great pride in giving back to their communities, so this is a fantastic way for our attendees to show their support for those who are less privileged," said NAFCU Vice President of Events and Education Lisa Cox. "Welcome Hall Mission does remarkable work for underprivileged children and their families, and we're glad to partner with them this year."
Headquartered in Montreal, Welcome Hall Mission is a tradition-rich nonprofit organization that was created in 1892 by men and women who devoted their lives to helping society's less fortunate. The organization helps these individuals with lodging, food assistance, counseling activities and more.
Sponsors of the backpacks include MasterCard, Insuritas, GlobalVision Systems, Inc., and Ascensus. Each backpack will contain school supplies. Attendees at the conference will participate in filling the backpacks and writing a special note for each child receiving one. The drop-off location for the backpacks will be located just outside the Preferred Partner Pavilion, adjacent to the Solutions Theater.
NAFCU's Annual Conference and Solutions Expo is headquartered at the Palais de Congrés. The conference continues through Friday, June 26. A complete schedule of conference events is online at www.nafcu-annual.org/agenda.
