NAFCU strengthens communications team
May 22, 2013 – Virginia Pasley and Rebekah Rast recently joined NAFCU as associate directors of communications to further strengthen the association's communications efforts.
"NAFCU's 2012 membership needs assessment survey showed that our members truly value our communications efforts and our publications, particularly the news we provide through NAFCU Today," said Karen Tyson, NAFCU's senior vice president of marketing and communications. "With the addition of Virginia and Rebekah, we are well-positioned to further enhance the quality and timeliness of all of our communications materials and products, from the newsletters to The Federal Credit Union, to editorials, videos, blogging and social media."
Prior to joining NAFCU, Pasley was a reporter, producer and anchor for the Voice of Russia radio and has had essays published in Slate and The Atlantic. She spent two years in the Peace Corps before getting her master's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri.
Rast comes to NAFCU from Americans for Limited Government, where she was media outreach director and contributing editor. She also has worked as communications coordinator for Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., and as a copy editor and writer for The Fresno Bee in Fresno, Calif.
