NAFCU’s Berger, Mesack, Thaler named top lobbyists by The Hill

Capitol

NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Greg Mesack, and Vice President of Legislative Affairs Brad Thaler were recognized as top 2023 association lobbyists by The Hill, a daily newspaper covering Congress and Washington, D.C.

CUNA President and CEO Jim Nussle and Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer Jason Stverak were also honored.

“We remain committed to creating the best legislative and regulatory environment for credit unions to thrive and be able to serve their 138 million members,” said Berger. “This honor reflects the great work of the entire NAFCU advocacy team. As the transformation process to America’s Credit Unions continues, the credit union voice will become even stronger. The future of the industry is bright, and we will keep working hard for our members.”

NAFCU’s award-winning advocacy team has been hard at work for credit unions this year. The association halted efforts to expand interchange price caps to credit cards, fought to protect the credit union tax exemption, secured passing of the Credit Union Board Modernization Act (CUBMA), and pushed back against regulatory overreach.
