NCUA charters new FCU in South Carolina
April 7, 2014 – NCUA chartered a new federal credit union in Greenville County, S.C. – CommunityWorks FCU – which will serve those who live, work, worship or attend school in the county.
The potential field of membership for CommunityWorks is almost 475,000 people. The credit union intends to seek a low-income designation and to eventually offer non-member deposits.
NCUA Board Chairman Debbie Matz said, "Everyone needs and deserves to have access to financial products and services they can afford. CommunityWorks will serve a real need among people who live in Greenville County."
CommunityWorks plans to open in June.
