Permanent CEO picked for Arrowhead Central

NCUA on Monday said Darin Woinarowicz, current chief financial officer for Kern Schools FCU, will take the CEO's post next month for the conserved Arrowhead Central CU in San Bernardino, Calif.

NCUA said this is the credit union's next step toward recovery. The $681-million-in-assets institution has been in conservatorship since June 2010.

"We believe the selection of Darin Woinarowicz is one that will ensure the credit union has sound strategic processes, a member-oriented focus, and the strong risk management and oversight necessary to rebuild and prosper," said Jane Walters, NCUA's Region II director.

NCUA said Woinarowicz has played an important role in Kerns Schools FCU's restructuring and financial turnaround. He previously held several key management positions at SchoolsFirst FCU.

The agency said Arrowhead Central has posted improving financial results, reporting net worth of 5.06 percent of assets for the quarter ending June 30. The credit union was chartered in 1949 and serves individuals who live or work in any city in San Bernardino or Riverside counties.
