NAFCU's New Risk Management Seminar Kicks Off in Denver
Denver (Aug. 3, 2015) – Credit union professionals from across the country are gathering today to kick off the National Association of Federal Credit Unions' (NAFCU) first-ever Risk Management Seminar in Denver, where attendees will learn and share risk management insights. The seminar runs through Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Grand Hyatt Denver.
"There is a constant threat of internal and external risks facing credit unions, so now is the perfect time for industry professionals to gain a better understanding of how to properly manage them," said NAFCU Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone. "Attendees will learn about the latest trends in risk management and what other credit unions around the country are doing in this area.They'll leave with the knowledge they need to create and implement a risk management program that meets NCUA expectations."
NAFCU's Risk Management Seminar, sponsored by NAFCU Services Corporation, is open to every credit union professional.
Seminar speakers include experts from across the industry. Among today's highlights are a presentation from NCUA Director of Examination and Insurance Larry Fazio, "NCUA Expectations and the 7 Types of Risk," and a discussion with NCUA Region 4 Director Keith Morton.A full list of speakers is online.
Risk Management Seminar attendees can earn the new designation of NAFCU Certified Risk Manager (NCRM) by taking and passing an optional exam during the seminar. Current NAFCU Certified Compliance Officers (NCCOs) who attend will receive 16.5 continuing education units (CEUs) toward NCCO recertification.
