Senate passes NDAA, moves to House

CapitolThe Senate passed the fiscal year 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) Wednesday. The final legislation does not include several NAFCU-opposed provisions.

NAFCU’s advocacy team, with the help of grassroots efforts from credit unions, relentlessly fought to keep interchange legislation from being attached as an amendment to the NDAA.

The bill moves to the House, which may consider the measure under suspension of the rules to expedite the process – bypassing procedural votes but requiring a two-thirds majority. The passing of the NDAA would set up Congress to adjourn for the year.

NAFCU will continue to advocate for credit union priorities. Stay tuned to NAFCU Today for the latest out of Washington.
