Senate confirms Bowman to serve on Fed board

FedThe Senate on Thursday voted 64-34 to confirm Michelle Bowman to the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors. Bowman has offered support of reducing the regulatory burden facing community-based financial institutions by better tailoring regulations.

The Fed still has two vacancies on its seven-member board; Marvin Goodfriend is still pending before the Senate.

Credit unions often use Federal Reserve services to meet their members' needs. NAFCU releases an annual Report on Credit Unions, set for later this month, which details these services.
