NCCO Exam Information - Summer Regulatory Compliance School

Regulatory Compliance School attendees have the opportunity to study and sit for NAFCU Certified Compliance Officer (NCCO) exams.

Please note that you will receive a printed version of NAFCU's Credit Union Compliance Roadmap manual when you arrive and register at School.

The exam schedule will be on the agenda when it is released.

During the conference, we will also have "NCCO Study Sessions" at the end of the day to let attendees know what to expect for the next day's exam.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I am unable to attend the NCCO exam orientation?

The orientation is not mandatory. If you are unable to attend the NCCO exam orientation, you may pick up the 2021 Exam Study Guide when you check-in at registration. (This is the guide that will be reviewed during orientation.) If you have any questions, please touch base with any member of the NAFCU Compliance team while you are at the conference.

Can I register and/or pay for the exams in advance?

Yes. If you plan to take the NCCO exams, please add them to your registration by choosing "Add" next to "Full 4 - Exam Package" when you register for School online. If you've already registered, you may add the package to your registration by contacting NAFCU Member Service Center at 800-344-5580 or info@nafcu.org.  If you are unsure, you can decide later.  If you choose to take the exams while you are at the conference, we will invoice you afterward.

What if I do not want to take all four exams at School?

You are not required to take all four exams at School. You have until December 31, 2021, to pass all four exams.  If you do not take all four exams at School, you can take any remaining exams back at your credit union with a proctor (i.e., a senior staffer at your organization). There is no additional fee to take exams at your credit union.

Should I start studying in advance of Regulatory Compliance School?

Watch the Breaking Down the NCCO Exam webinar to get NAFCU VP of Regulatory Compliance Brandy Bruyere’s best practices and study tips.

If you have time to begin studying before School, it is a good idea to do so. You will receive an electronic version of the 2021 Credit Union Compliance Roadmap and study guide 3-4 weeks prior to the start of School. You may begin studying in advance using those resources. You can also download the free 2021 NCCO Exam study guide.

What is the cost to retake exams that I do not pass?

Typically there is a $49 fee for members and $69 for nonmembers to retake exams. However, School attendees are not charged these fees. You can either retake exams at School at one of the many exam sessions, or you can retake exams back at your credit union. Retake exams must be completed by December 31, 2021.
