Business credit focus of upcoming CFPB webinar
The CFPB will host a free webinar for financial practitioners Jan. 26 at 2 p.m. Eastern on how to coach and counsel entrepreneurs and small businesses about credit.
In the webinar’s description, the bureau notes that “entrepreneurs often depend on their personal credit as they start, grow, and establish their businesses. Many are also interested in building their business credit, which can be a new, confusing topic for coaches and counselors who support entrepreneurs.”
Advance registration for the webinar is required and open online.
Credit unions are critical lenders in their local communities and the industry consistently steps up to meet the needs of small businesses and entrepreneurs – demonstrated by the strong showing of credit unions that participate in Small Business Administration (SBA) loan programs, including the paycheck protection program amid the coronavirus pandemic.
NAFCU continues to advocate for legislative and regulatory policies that provide increased flexibility and resources to support credit unions’ small business lending – including relief related to loan maturity limits and the member business lending (MBL) cap. The association remains engaged with the SBA, CFPB, and Congress on small business lending issues.
