Hood added to notable Caucus lineup

Rodney HoodNCUA Board Chairman Rodney Hood will provide an update on the agency's efforts at NAFCU's Congressional Caucus, joining a lineup that includes President Donald Trump's Acting Chief of Staff and Director of the Office of Management and Budget Mick Mulvaney, Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mark Calabria, and officials from the Treasury Department and Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Registration for NAFCU's Congressional Caucus, happening Sept. 8-11, is available here. In addition to high profile lawmakers and administration officials, credit union representatives will also hear from renowned journalists Gretchen Carlson and Major Garrett.

NAFCU met with Hood in May, shortly after he took office in April, to discuss priorities for the agency.  Hood has previously identified several issues he plans to address during his tenure, many of which overlap with NAFCU priorities, including:

  • reducing regulatory burdens – Hood has said he wants "effective but not excessive regulation";
  • modernizing the federal credit union charter;
  • addressing cybersecurity issues; and
  • creating opportunities for credit unions to serve more communities.
