Caucus reminders: Nominate CU champion for Paul Revere Award, schedule Hill meetings
NAFCU's Congressional Caucus is fast approaching and today is the last day member credit unions can nominate a champion for the association's 2019 Paul Revere Award, which recognizes an individual's grassroots and political efforts. Also, those attending Caucus are encouraged to setup Capitol Hill meetings to discuss issues directly with their respective representative and senators.
Congressional Caucus – happening Sept. 8-11 in Washington – features a stellar lineup of key administration officials, lawmakers and regulators who will address the hundreds of credit union representatives throughout the week. The Capitol Hill meetings provide credit unions the opportunity to connect with lawmakers individually to discuss issues critical to their constituents. A Hill visit form is available online.
The Paul Revere Award winner will be announced and recognized during Caucus. To be considered for the award, candidates must:
- be from a NAFCU-member credit union;
- have held at least two meetings during 2018 or 2019 with each of their members of Congress (two senators and one representative);
- have responded to all NAFCU Grassroots Alerts by completing the actions requested, such as phone calls, emails and letters to their lawmakers; and
- be in regular contact with NAFCU for the most up-to-date legislative and regulatory information.
Interested credit unions can submit a nominee online, mail their applications to NAFCU (3138 10th Street North, Arlington, VA 22201 Attn: Associate Director of Political Affairs), or fax them to (703) 522-0594.
For more information or questions about the Paul Revere Award, please contact NAFCU Associate Director of Political Affairs Meghan Brady at (703) 842-2837 or mbrady@nafcu.org.
