Compliance Network: Get updates on litigation trends
While the coronavirus disrupts some court systems across the country, NAFCU Senior Regulatory Counsel Elizabeth LaBerge updated credit unions on regulatory litigation efforts that have continued in a post on the member-only Compliance, Risk & BSA Network. The association tracks litigation trends facing the credit union industry and regularly provides members with need to know updates via the Compliance Blog and NAFCU Today.
In the new Insights post, LaBerge, provides credit unions with a round-up of recent court activities related to a variety of topics, including:
- overdraft and NSF fees;
- constitutionality of the CFPB;
- challenges to the NCUA's 2016 field of membership rule;
- the Telephone Consumer Protection Act's "autodialer" provision;
- cybersecurity and data breaches; and
- fintech charters.
Additionally, the latest edition of NAFCU’s Compliance Monitor details key background information on remote deposit capture litigation, including steps credit unions may want to consider when assessing the risks involved and provides an update on the ongoing litigation between USAA and Wells Fargo.
For more litigation updates, read LaBerge's full post. Credit unions with questions on federal guidance or other related issues are encouraged to reach out to NAFCU’s Compliance Team.
