NAFCU's sold-out conference for CU board, supervisory members begins today
NAFCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference – which has sold out the past three years – begins today in Newport, R.I., with a pre-conference workshop for those looking to earn or recertify their prestigious NAFCU Certified Volunteer Expert (NCVE) designation.
"NAFCU is excited to host another one of our very successful conferences this week to help credit union board and supervisory committee members better serve their institution and help lead the industry successfully into the future," said NAFCU President and CEO Dan Berger. "Our sold-out Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee Conference is jam-packed with vital information from industry experts to guide credit unions and their leaders through the tough regulatory and economic landscapes."
The conference runs through Thursday and features sessions on hot-topic issues, including data security, executive compensation, CEO succession planning and regulatory changes.
NAFCU Executive Vice President and COO Anthony Demangone will lead today's workshop to help credit union volunteers better understand their role and how the credit union system works. Workshop attendees will also receive the new Credit Union Director Handbook and have the opportunity to take the NCVE exam.
Berger will welcome all conference attendees tomorrow and also deliver a Washington Update covering ongoing legislative and regulatory efforts that will impact credit unions and their bottom lines. The full agenda is available here.

By considering macroeconomic factors such as unemployment rates while offering credit unions full control over risk and returns, AI and machine learning enables credit unions to stay profitable during challenging times while creating a more inclusive lending system.
