NAFCU closed in observance of Juneteenth
NAFCU’s offices will be closed Monday in observance of Juneteenth. Credit union members will still have access to the association’s website for resources as well as regulatory and legislative updates on key issue areas.
Here are a few recent updates from NAFCU to be aware of:
New resources on FedNow, interchange: NAFCU has created a new webpage dedicated to assisting credit unions as they explore the Federal Reserve’s FedNow Service, which is set to launch in July. Credit unions are encouraged to utilize NAFCU’s free, on-demand webinar series to provide staff with a baseline understanding of FedNow.
In addition, NAFCU and other financial services trade groups are relentlessly fighting against a bill sought by big-box retailers to expand interchange price controls to credit cards – which they were successful in stopping last year – by highlighting the negative effects it would have on consumers, credit unions and other financial institutions. The association has an updated one-pager detailing the consequences of this interchange legislation. Credit unions are encouraged to take action and contact lawmakers in opposition via NAFCU’s Grassroots Action Center and share statements to bolster the association’s advocacy.
